Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED), developed in accordance with the guidelines set by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC).

 

Course Overview
This comprehensive programme equips participants with essential life-saving skills to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies. The curriculum includes:

•⁠ ⁠Understanding Cardiac Arrest and the Chain of Survival – Learn the critical steps that improve survival rates during cardiac emergencies.
•⁠ ⁠Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – Practise high-quality CPR techniques for adults and infants, with emphasis on effective chest compressions and rescue breaths.
•⁠ ⁠Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Usage – Gain proficiency in using AED devices, a crucial tool in restoring a normal heart rhythm during sudden cardiac arrest.
•⁠ ⁠Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) Management – Develop skills to recognise and relieve choking in conscious and unconscious individuals across all age groups.

Certification
Upon successful completion, participants will receive the SRFAC-accredited BCLS+AED Provider Certificate, valid for two years, confirming their competence in basic cardiac life support and AED application.

 

Course Duration
•⁠ ⁠Full Course: A 1-day intensive training session, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
•⁠ ⁠Blended Learning Option: Approximately 4 hours of online self-paced learning followed by a 4-hour in-person practical session.
